Good Work

The essence of good work is the beneficial use of our life energies.

Good work serves life.

Good work benefits the worker, the organization, the community, the nation, and the planet.

Leadership

Good leaders serve their organizations and communities.

Caring leaders are concerned with the well-being of the environment.

Compassionate leaders listen deeply.

Honest leaders communicate truthfully and kindly.

Wise leaders take action informed by research, experience, and intuition.

Loving leaders share power.

Confident leaders know when to delegate.

Strong leaders are sustained by their integrity, competence, and caring.

Inspired leaders are like orchestra conductors, harmonizing the talents of their co-workers.

Wisdom

Wisdom deepens as awareness, experience, and reflection grow.

Wisdrom draws on past experience and present awareness.

Wise individuals rely on research, reason, and intuition.

Wisdom depends on patience and perseverance.

Wise individuals are open to new ideas, persons, places, and phenomena.

The wise are comfortable with uncertainity.

A wise organization is open to the collective wisdom of its members

Values

True values promote truth, goodness, and beauty.

True values nurture love and life.

Growth and development are invigorated by living in line with our principles.

False values create division, deceit, and destruction.

False values create injustice.

Justice, generosity, and inner peace promote life.

Productivity

Productivity is improved through cooperation and communication.

Dedication and devotion increase efficiency and productivity.

Experimentation and invention can lead to great gains in productivity.

Productivity standards need to consider capabilities as well as limitations (including health and safety).

Quality

Quality is produced by a blend of insight, skill, knowledge, and experience.

Focus, care, and effort are needed to create high quality products and services.

Quality has both subjective and objective aspects.

It is usually possible, but not always necessary, to improve our work.

It is important to determine the costs and benefits of devoting extra time, energy, and expense to creating “the best possible" product or service.  Sometimes, a "good enough" product or service is best.
