Four types of coaching are available: Drawing on nearly thirty years of professional writing as well as fifteen years as a writing instructor and coach, Chuck will share proven methods for planning, organizing, composing, and revising your written pieces, whether they be books and articles, memos and reports, or theses and dissertations. You will learn techniques for: brainstorming topics; focusing and structuring the overall piece; expressing the main idea with precision and power; outlining supporting points; developing paragraphs that combine clear ideas with specific illustrations and convincing explanations; and composing lucid, compelling sentences. Your writing will shine with intelligence and eloquence! Fiction writers and poets will receive additional literary guidance. Novelists and short story writers will receive coaching on genre, narration, description, point of view, character, voice, theme, plot, symbol, and style. Poets will receive coaching on diction, tone, voice, imagery, form (stanza, sonnet, ode, blank verse, free verse), sound (alliteration, assonance, consonance), and line (metre, rhyme, length, caesura).
